Sladewood Fundraising
We continue to apply for grants and sponsorships, making contact with many local businesses and charities. If you know anyone who may be in a position to help us, please email admin@sladewood.sandmat.uk. Many thanks for your support.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have already raised over £80,000 and we have now completed the first three phases of our playground project.
Sladewood Academy has joined Easyfundraising to help our supporters raise additional funds towards our latest projects. Please see the link below, where ‘how it works’ is explained:

It is easy to sign up and over 8,000+ retailers will donate part of what you spend on your everyday shopping to Sladewood via a commission. It doesn’t cost you any extra – the cost is covered by the retailer. You just need to shop using the Easyfundraising app or website.

Who we are ...
Our dedicated team are always on the look out for ways to raise funds. Children at Sladewood have moderate learning difficulties which present as social, emotional, speech, language and comprehension needs. Our pupils have a range of difficulties including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Down’s Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. Approximately, one third of our pupils come from disadvantaged backgrounds and are eligible for free school meals.
Why It Matters
Children at Sladewood thrive in outdoor environments. With the right equipment and play spaces tailored to their needs, they will:
- Develop self-regulation skills
- Build independence and confidence
- Communicate and connect with peers
- Experience joy and inclusion every single day
What we’ve Achieved so far:
- Phase 1: Accessible walkways to access the whole playground
- Phase 2: An adventure trim trail for our pupils
- Phase 3: Our swings have been installed, and are ready to play on! Stan’s Epic 125 mile Challenge raised an amazing £7.9k. Thank you so much Stan.
What’s Next – Phase 4
We are now fundraising for Phase 4, which will bring our vision even closer to reality. This stage includes:
- A multi-sensory play space with sand, water, hammocks, and quiet areas
The cost of this phase is estimated at £40,000 – and every contribution brings us one step closer.
Please see our fundraising measure, along with our target, to make great things happen at Sladewood Academy. THANK YOU SO MUCH to all our supporters!
